INDIGO ENSEMBLE
The Indigo Ensemble, a chamber music quartet with a nontraditional instrumentation
consisting of violin, guitar, bass & piano. Their repertoire encompasses four continents
and three centuries. The aural possibilities of the group are enhanced by the fact
that all the musicians play multiple instruments. Their repertoire is completely
uninhibited and ranges from Bach to Ravel to Duke Ellington to Jimi Hendrix to Astor
Piazzolla to Hugo Blanco. Members of the Indigo Ensemble have been collaborating
with one another for many years. What started as sporadic musical encounters evolved
into an eager exploration of world chamber music by four committed friends who share
one common goal:
to make intimate, fun, exciting music without borders, always reaching
to connect with each other and the audience. Our audience will remember double bassist,
Peter Nelson, from his appearance with the Thüringer Salonquintett (10/13/08).
