FRENCH CHAMBER ORCHESTRA - March 18, 2008
North Medford High School

A wonderful concert.  Each member of the incomparable French Chamber Orchestra couple their passion for making music with the energy, technique and attention to ensemble that true chamber music requires. The group performs regularly with well-known French soloists and conductors, including Maurice André, Guy Touvron, and Frédéric Lodéon, in venues all across Europe, and made a very successful U.S. debut at the Lincoln Center in 2002.

Acclaimed as one of France’s best chamber orchestras, the French Chamber Orchestra is equally at home with baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary music, and takes a particular pleasure in bringing forgotten masterpieces to life… a “must-see” for Chamber enthusiasts.

Incidentally the orgchestra members really enjoyed their stay in the Rogue Valley and would like to return.

The Celtic Tenors appeared to raves from the audiece at South Medford High  on April 15, 2008  They have the rare ability to appeal to virtually every sector of music lover.  Their debut album went immediately to No. 2 in the UK, to No. 1 in Ireland and Germany, and won The German Grammy-equivalent for Best Classical Crossover Album… and that was just the beginning.

The Celtic Tenors have since done much international television, many international compilation recordings, and have become a “hot ticket” among international heads of state. They are rapidly -- and consummately -- re-inventing the entire Tenor idiom.

.Donna Malone - Soprano comes from Ballina, County Mayo in the west of Ireland. Donna received her valuable early training at Ballina’s St. Cecilia School of Song under the inspired direction of Lavinia Gilmartin. Donna has been described as having one of the most astonishing and mature soprano voices of her generation. Her prodigious ability at such a young age is reminiscent of the young Charlotte Church.

Many new members were able to attend this concert for FREE when they joined before or at the concert.
